How To Sew…… A Hair Scrunchie

how to sew a hair scrunchie

Hiya everyone. This evening I made my daughter a hair scrunchie following the tutorial over on the Ikatbag Blog.

The tutorial was easy to follow and I am very impressed with my daughter’s new scrunchie.

I used Disney Frozen fabric which is made by Springs Creative. To say she is delighted with her new hairband is an understatement! :-) It will look great with her Elsa dress I am going to make her one day…when I find time. I have the fabrics ready but I just need to sit down and sew it.

I took photos along the way of making this hair band so you could see how I made it but if you would like to make one I recommend following the hair scrunchie sewing tutorial on the Ikatbag blog.

The measurements in the Ikatbag tutorial are in inches but I roughly converted them into cm (using the lovely google!) as I could only find my tape measure that has cm marked on it.

The fabric I used was 41 cm x 10cm and the narrow elastic was 18cm long and approx 1cm wide (3/8 inch elastic).

My First Blog Post On Polkadotii Designs!!

welcome

Hi everyone.

Here is my first blog post on polkadotiidesigns.com. I have had this domain for a couple of years now but until today I hadn’t written a blog post on it!

Thought I’d just say a quick hello to you all before I write my next blog post which is all about showing you how to make a hair scrunchie.  I have just made my daughter the most gorgeous ‘Frozen’ one. :-)

Bye for now, Kim
